I've officially settled into my Portland apartment and my workspace. I've also officially decided I have entirely way too many things. I had to get rid of my wonderful writing desk when I moved to Oregon but it has been replaced with a useful (ugly) desk.
A few weeks after moving into our apartment, there was a tenant in our building selling all of their furniture. We scored that IKEA bookshelf thing from them for only 5 bucks! I knew it would be perfect to store all of my supplies and little knick-knacks. I also put up some art, postcards and random things people have sent me. Everything is coming together!
My mail sorter sits on the bookshelf and is one of my favorite things ever. I purchased it from a clearance rack at HomeGoods. It was basically destroyed during the move, all of the slots came unglued & it broke in half. I made sure to bring it with me when I went to Vegas because I knew my mom had all the supplies to fix it. The original sorter was painted all white so I decided to paint it purple & gold while I had it taken apart. To customize it a bit more, my brother & I decided to stencil on a pterodactyl.
These two shelves hold my book collection. These are all the books I've purchased over the years to cut up and use in collages. I had cut myself off from purchasing any more but I found 3 yearbooks while living out here and couldn't pass them up. One of the yearbooks is from 1923!
Here is my Leaning Tower of Pisa. This beauty holds everything I could possibly use while making collages.
From top to bottom:
- Lino cutting supplies
- Rubber stamp carving supplies
- Envelope making supplies
- Stickers
- Address labels
- More stickers
- Ink pads
- Alphabet rubber stamps

I have things. Lots of things.
Aw shucks, thanks! Hope all is well with you!
