I love the internet and the opportunities is gives us to send meaningful and beautiful mail. I think it is amazing that so many of us use this technology to keep things like letters alive. I know I wouldn't send half of the amount of mail I do if I didn't have websites like Sendsomething, Postcrossing, Swap-Bot and, of course, other mail blogs.
The Missive Maven has a wonderful blog and she posts about a lot of mail related things that I don't think I would find by myself. Recently she posted about an interesting mail challenge (which she found about through Postmuse's tweets). There is a post office in Vermont that may be facing closure next year if it doesn't bring in enough revenue or mail volume. Unless you live in Vermont and want to use that post office exclusively, most of us cannot help the revenue side. Fortunately Jane Davies posted about what we can do to help.
In order to increase the volume of mail that wee Vermont post office handles, Jane is asking people to send her an art postcard. In return, she will send you a handmade postcard. Pretty good deal, right? Make a fun postcard, send it her way, help a post office and get a postcard in return
I also want to help out a bit more. For every comment I receive on this post, I will send one additional postcard. Let me know why you love mail or post offices, tell me about your favorite post office or just say hello.
